Financial Success
Welcome New Visitors,
It is truly an honor that I have this opportunity to welcome new visitors and to share this message with you, a potential client. “Finances” for some people is a word a lot like “tooth decay”. Just like everybody would prefer to have healthy teeth, everybody would prefer to be financially fit. However, few people jump for joy at the idea of visiting the dentist. The same could be said for financial advisors.
Believe me, I’ve heard it! “I’m too busy. . .” “I’m not interested. . . ” “I’m set. . . ” are just some of the excuses I hear on a regular basis from people just to get me off the phone. It used to bug me that so few people were interested in taking care of their financial affairs. Then it occurred to me: it is not that people don’t care about their financial well-being, it’s just that so many other things were really going on in their minds like:
“I have a guy that helps me”
“I don’t think you can help me”
“I don’t want to be harassed”
“I don’t want to be judged, criticized, or condescended to”
“Now is not a good time”
“I don’t like you”
“I don’t like change”
“I think you will charge me something”
“I don’t trust you”
“I don’t trust anybody in the financial services industry”
“I think everything is okay for now”
“I have achieved all I will achieve”
“I don’t know where to start”
I have composed this lengthy message to help prospective clients get a better feel of what my perspective looks like. And from where I’m sitting, let me first say that I think as a society we are expecting and demanding far too little out of our service providers. We need to get back to a place where we don’t settle for rude, incompetent, or inattentive service. Secondly, we put far too much pressure on ourselves to be experts in everything (including finances). We need to get back to a place where we don’t rely on the internet or entertainers to tell us everything we need to know.
So THANK YOU in advance for allowing me to share my message. If you feel inclined to call me, I would invite you freely to do so!
